What should a greywater startup visit verify?
If an installation quote already includes setup, I’d want to know what a separate commissioning fee adds. Should the installer document leak and bypass checks, confirm that the diversion and treatment components operate as intended, and walk through maintenance and safe-use limits?
What written records would be reasonable to ask for, and how do you tell whether commissioning is useful verification rather than a repeat of the installation work?

A useful record would be a dated checklist stating what leak and bypass checks were performed, how the diversion and treatment components were tested, and whether each check passed or had an exception. It should also note operating and maintenance limits discussed. That gives you evidence of verification, unlike a generic “work completed” note, without requiring a long report.
