How far can gravity-fed laundry water reach across a sloped yard?
How much do elevation and distance limit a laundry-to-landscape setup when the planting areas sit at different heights or are spread across the yard? Gravity delivery seems simpler, but I’m unsure when the available slope stops being enough for reliable flow to all the outlets, and when a pump’s controls and extra maintenance are worth taking on. A large yard alone wouldn’t tell me a pump is needed.
I’d also want to understand the fallback: if a line clogs or the reuse system is unavailable, where does the laundry drainage go? Do local rules or detergent requirements tend to constrain gravity and pumped systems differently?

There isn’t a universal distance or elevation cutoff: what matters is whether the actual route keeps enough downhill fall for water to reach each outlet at a useful rate. A longer run may still work if the grade is favorable, while a short climb can defeat gravity. I’d compare the route’s elevation changes and outlet needs first; pumping becomes worth considering where gravity can’t serve the needed areas, balanced against the added controls and upkeep.
