Touchless taps and other faucet surprises

That’s a good point about hardwired taps not being foolproof. I was thinking about going the hardwired route just to avoid the whole battery thing, but now I’m wondering if it’s just trading one hassle for another. Like, what even happens if you lose power? Does that mean you can’t use the sink at all, or is there usually some kind of backup? I’m not super handy, so the idea of having to deal with weird wiring issues kinda freaks me out.

The smudge thing is so real, too. I swear half the time I’m waving my hands around like I’m casting a spell, just trying to get the water to turn on. Have you ever had sensors just stop working altogether? I’m curious if that’s usually a cleaning issue or if sometimes they just die and need replacing. Definitely feels like there’s no perfect answer, but it’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one a little confused by all this tech.

Honestly, this is why I stuck with a regular faucet. Batteries die, power goes out, sensors get moody... but a good old handle never ghosts you. Plus, way cheaper if you’re watching your wallet.
