is it worth splurging on a fancy faucet or just stick with basic?

So I'm looking to swap out my kitchen faucet since the old one's dripping like crazy and driving me nuts. I checked online and saw prices all over the placeβ€”some sleek, fancy ones with touch sensors and all that jazz, and then your basic no-frills faucets that seem to do the job just fine. Anyone here gone for the pricier option and felt it was totally worth it, or did you regret spending extra cash on something that just pours water? Curious what you guys think...

I completely agree with sticking to something practical rather than splurging on bells and whistles. I've installed faucets in several rental properties over the years, and honestly, the pricier models with sensors or fancy finishes often end up being more trouble than they're worth. Repairs are pricier, replacement parts harder to find, and tenants rarely appreciate the extra features enough to justify the cost. A solid mid-range faucet from a reputable brand usually hits the sweet spot between durability, ease of maintenance, and value.
