What’s included in a shower valve replacement quote?
Does a quote for a shower valve replacement cover just the visible trim, or the valve body behind the wall too? Those can be quite different scopes of work, and I’d want the estimate to make the distinction clear.
I’d also ask whether opening the wall, patching it, and restoring the finished surface are included or excluded. How do you confirm that a proposed valve body will work with the existing piping and shower setup before the job is approved?

Before approving, I’d ask for the proposed valve’s make and model and compare its connection requirements and configuration with the existing piping and shower setup. If anything is uncertain because it’s concealed, the estimate can note that assumption and how any needed change would affect the scope or price.
