True, upfront costs can seem intimidating, but it's worth considering the long-term perspective. I've installed a couple of water-saving toilets myself, and while the initial price was slightly higher than standard models, the savings on water bills over time have been noticeable. Plus, if you're handy enough to handle installation yourself, you can cut down significantly on labor costs.

Another thing to keep in mind is that many local utilities offer rebates or incentives for installing water-efficient fixtures. I managed to snag a rebate from my city that covered almost half the cost of one toilet—definitely softened the financial blow.

Performance-wise, modern water-saving toilets have improved drastically compared to older low-flow models. The newer designs flush efficiently without sacrificing effectiveness, so you won't end up flushing multiple times and defeating the purpose.

Overall, I'd say they're worth it if you approach it strategically—look for deals, rebates, and consider DIY installation if you're comfortable with plumbing basics.

True, they've gotten better, but I'd still advise caution. Seen a few cheaper models that clog easier than standard toilets. Do your research first—check reviews carefully before you buy and install.

Yeah, good point about cheaper models. Had a client recently who installed a budget-friendly water-saver... ended up visiting them twice in one month for clogs. Definitely worth spending a bit more upfront to avoid headaches later.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from, but honestly, I've had pretty decent luck with budget-friendly water-saving toilets. The key is proper installation and regular maintenance. First, make sure the flange and wax ring are seated correctly—any misalignment can cause clogs. Second, adjust the water level in the tank slightly higher if possible; sometimes the factory settings are too low. Lastly, avoid thick toilet paper brands... sounds silly, but it makes a difference. Haven't had any major issues yet, fingers crossed.

I've had mixed experiences myself. If you're cautious like me, here's what I'd suggest: check reviews carefully—especially for flushing power—and don't just trust the brand name. Also, consider your home's plumbing age and layout; older pipes sometimes struggle with lower-flow toilets. Learned that the hard way... twice. 😅 But yeah, proper install and avoiding the ultra-plush TP definitely helps keep things flowing smoothly.
