What should a conventional tank replacement quote include?
When comparing quotes for a conventional tank water heater, what should be listed separately so the final bills are actually comparable? I’m wondering about the tank, labor, old-unit disposal, and any permit or inspection fees.
I’d also want to know whether the quote assumes the existing venting and gas or electrical connections can be reused, and how it handles an expansion tank if one is needed. Which site conditions commonly change the price after work starts, and what’s reasonable to have spelled out before accepting a quote?
