After weeks of umming and ahhing over copper, PVC, and PEX for my basement bathroom project, I finally went with PEX piping and couldn't be happier. Honestly, I was skeptical at first—PVC seemed cheaper and copper felt like the "classic" choice—but after reading a ton of forums and watching way too many YouTube tutorials (you know how it is), I decided to give PEX a shot.

Installation was surprisingly easy, even for someone who's not exactly a plumbing expert. The flexibility made fitting around corners a breeze, and I didn't have to sweat solder joints or mess with glue fumes. Plus, it's quiet—I don't hear that annoying water hammer noise anymore.

Curious if anyone else has had similar luck going with materials they weren't initially sold on. Like maybe you went old-school copper and loved it, or PVC saved your sanity? Would be cool to hear about other people's wins or surprises with plumbing choices.

Yeah, I was fully team copper at first—thought it was the only way to go. But after wrestling with soldering (and nearly torching my drywall...), PEX became my new best friend. Lesson learned the hard way, I guess.
