We moved into a house with a septic tank about two years ago, and I recently started using one of those enzyme additive products every month. Honestly, I was skeptical at first—seemed like another gimmicky thing—but I've noticed fewer weird smells around the yard and drains seem smoother. Not sure if it's just placebo or actually working, you know? Curious if anyone else has tried these enzyme things and noticed a difference or if I'm just imagining stuff...

Yeah, I used to think the same way. Had a client swear by those enzyme additives, so I gave them a shot at home. Can't say it's magic, but things do seem to flow better...might be something to it after all.
Funny you mention that enzyme stuff—I remember my dad being super skeptical too. He called it "septic snake oil" and rolled his eyes whenever mom brought it up. Then one summer our backyard started smelling like a swamp monster moved in, so dad finally caved and tried it. Took a few weeks, but the stink went away. He still won't admit mom was right though...just says it's "coincidence." Gotta love stubborn dads, lol.
