So after procrastinating forever, I finally tackled installing one of those under-sink water filter systems yesterday. Honestly thought I'd end up with a mini indoor pool, but surprisingly, it went pretty smooth. Only had to watch like three YouTube tutorials, lol. Water tastes way better now, and no leaks so far (fingers crossed). Curious if anyone else had a DIY plumbing project actually go right for once?
Nice job getting that filter installed without any drama. I've done a few plumbing DIYs myself, and honestly, it's always a bit nerve-wracking. Last year, I replaced our bathroom faucetβthought it'd be straightforward, but ended up wrestling with rusted bolts for hours. Surprisingly though, once I got past that hurdle, everything else clicked into place pretty smoothly. Did you run into any unexpected snags or was it mostly smooth sailing after the tutorials?
"thought it'd be straightforward, but ended up wrestling with rusted bolts for hours."
Haha, rusted bolts are the bane of my DIY existence. When I installed our under-sink filter last summer, I thought the hardest part would be figuring out the tubing connections. Nope... spent half the afternoon squeezed awkwardly under the sink, battling ancient plumbing fittings that seemed welded together by decades of mineral buildup. Once those finally budged, though, the rest was surprisingly easy. Glad yours went smootherβmaybe plumbing karma is finally turning in our favor?
Haha, plumbing karma...I wish. Last time I tackled a filter install, I thought I'd be smart and spray WD-40 on the bolts first. Nope, just ended up with slippery rusted bolts and a bruised knuckle. Glad yours turned out better!
