Keeping a tray under there is a good call. Reminds me of a job I did last summer—client had a slow drip from the garbage disposal connection, nothing major at first glance, but over months it saturated the cabinet floor and warped everything. By the time they noticed, the wood was shot and mold was creeping in behind the drywall. Ended up being way more expensive than it needed to be.
Personally, I always suggest clients do regular checks with a flashlight every month or two, especially around fittings and hoses. Even better if you can run your fingers along connections—sometimes leaks are so subtle they're barely visible, but you'll feel dampness right away. Plastic trays are handy, but combining that with an occasional hands-on check can catch issues even earlier and save you some headaches down the road.
