I’ve seen that happen, too—insurance policies can be so weirdly specific. Years ago, I had a slow leak under my kitchen sink that went unnoticed for a while. By the time I caught it, the water had warped a chunk of my bamboo flooring and the cabinet base was toast. Insurance barely chipped in, and I ended up shelling out way more than I expected. Ever since, I’ve been a little paranoid about leaks and started looking into those smart water sensors.
Curious if anyone’s tried the ones that actually shut off your main water line automatically? I’m tempted, but I wonder if they’re reliable or just another gadget to babysit. Anyone had one save them from a disaster, or is it mostly peace of mind?
