- Those bins of random bits have saved my bacon more times than I care to admit. There’s always that one oddball screw or gasket you can’t find at the store anymore.
- Ice cube trays for hardware—now that’s genius. I’ve tried those magnetic bowls, but half the time they end up stuck to the side of my tool chest or, worse, collecting metal shavings from who knows where.
- Showerheads are notorious for going haywire. Sometimes it’s just a bit of grit wedged in the wrong spot, other times it’s a cracked plastic bit like you said. I once found a tiny piece of teflon tape jammed in the nozzle—no idea how it got there.
- Duct tape as a “temporary” fix? Story of my life. I tell myself it’s just for a day or two... then forget about it until the next tenant moves in and asks what’s holding the towel bar together.
- There’s something weirdly satisfying about cobbling together a fix from whatever’s on hand. It’s not pretty, but if it works, it works.
