Dishwasher quote has an electrical line item
Should a dishwasher replacement quote assume the existing electrical connection is compliant, or include any work needed to change it? I’m trying to understand what to clarify when a quote lists electrical modification separately.
Does the installer usually specify whether that means a new outlet, wiring, or circuit work, and who handles permits and the electrical work? I’d want to compare quotes on the same scope before approving anything.

I’d prioritize a quote that states whether it assumes the existing connection can be used, plus a defined conditional scope and price if it can’t, over a single all-in total. That makes it easier to see whether two quotes cover the same electrical work without implying that work is definitely needed.
