my bathtub faucet decided to retire early
So yesterday, I'm minding my own business, ready for a relaxing bath after a long day, and the faucet handle just snaps off in my hand. Like, seriously? Has this happened to anyone else or is my faucet just uniquely dramatic?

A handle snapping off isn’t unheard of, though that alone doesn’t tell us why it happened. For anyone dealing with this, did the handle itself break, or did it come loose where it attaches to the faucet?
A handle can crack or fatigue at its narrowest point, or break around the attachment; alternatively, the connection can loosen or strip and let the handle come off without the handle itself snapping. The post doesn’t tell us which happened here, so the break point would be the useful clue.
