Dripping at the toilet supply connection increases during a flush

If dripping at a toilet supply connection briefly increases during a flush, does that point to movement at the tank or hose, or could water be escaping somewhere else and running down to the connection?

What observations help locate the first wet spot: the shutoff valve, either end of the supply hose, or the tank connection? Would you shut off the toilet while figuring it out if it also drips between flushes? I’d rather not tighten or move a pressurized connection without knowing whether that’s a safe check.
