RE: When your water heater goes rogue: quick fixes and hacks
That condensation thing totally threw me off the first time. I legit thought my water heater was about to flood the whole basement, but nope - just a sweaty tank. That paper towel trick is genius, though. Who knew someth...
RE: When your heater acts up: quick fixes that saved my winter
Right? I swear, whoever invented those “universal” elbows must live in a house built last year - nothing lines up in my 1960s place. Last month, I was halfway wedged behind the water heater, trying to fix what I thought ...
RE: Low-flow toilets: worth the hype or just a pain?
Low-flows are kind of like those “healthy” chips - sometimes they surprise you, sometimes you’re just left hungry. When I first moved into my place (built in the 70s, so not exactly high-tech plumbing), I thought swappin...
RE: Under sink vs. countertop filters: which is less hassle to install?
I hear you on the countertop filter looking a bit awkward, but honestly, after wrestling with my under-sink pipes for an entire Saturday (and discovering a leak two days later), I’m starting to appreciate “awkward but ea...

I tried one of those “eco” showerheads when I moved in, and honestly, I felt like I was just standing under a leaky faucet. Ended up swapping it for a regular one after a week - life’s too short for bad showers, right? I...
RE: When your bathroom sink ends up off-center
I actually went down the offset drain rabbit hole when we moved in, thinking it’d be a quick fix. Spoiler: it was not. Ended up with pipes that looked like they were playing Twister under the sink, and I swear the water ...
RE: Burst pipe panic: what would you do?
I actually tried heat tape last winter after a near-pipe disaster (rookie homeowner panic mode activated...). It worked fine, no issues, but honestly didn't notice a huge difference compared to insulation alone. Probably...
RE: ever wondered how faucets actually work?
Haha, honestly, before owning a home, I had zero clue faucets even had seals - thought it was just magic water elves or something. Totally with you on the silicone though, rubber ones turned into crumbly messes way quick...
