RE: Handy shortcuts for finding plumbing info quick
That’s exactly what I ended up doing after my own “learning experience.” First time I tried to fix a running toilet, I had my phone propped up on the tank lid, following some YouTube guy’s instructions. Of course, the ba...
RE: Handy shortcuts for finding plumbing info quick
I tried the spreadsheet thing too, but honestly, it lasted about a week before I forgot it even existed. My phone’s full of random pipe photos that make zero sense a month later - like, is that under the kitchen sink or ...
RE: SEPTIC SYSTEM NIGHTMARES: DID YOU KNOW THIS?
That’s actually what tipped me off last month - there was this odd patch by the back fence that never really dried out, even when we hadn’t had rain for ages. I thought maybe it was just bad grading or something, but nop...
RE: SEPTIC SYSTEM NIGHTMARES: DID YOU KNOW THIS?
When we bought our place, the septic location was marked clearly on the plans too - but surprise, surprise, it wasn't exactly accurate. Not as far off as yours, but enough to make me question the reliability of these rec...
RE: Finally won the battle against invading tree roots
I tried the DIY route too, thinking I'd outsmart the roots with some leftover plastic sheeting and gravel from a patio project. It worked...for about three months. Then those sneaky things just found another way around i...

RE: shower goes ice cold when someone flushes toilet
Interesting point, though I'm not totally sold on pipe sizing being the main culprit here. When I first moved into my place, had a similar icy-shower shock anytime someone flushed. Checked the pipes, all seemed sized fin...
RE: old pipes and fixtures - can they actually be recycled?
Had a similar experience when I replaced the old pipes under my kitchen sink. Thought I'd drained everything, but nope... one sneaky valve decided to hold onto some nasty brown water. Ended up with a lovely puddle on my ...
RE: Handy shortcuts for finding plumbing info quick
Yeah, YouTube's saved me a few times too. But honestly, even some plumber channels can be iffy - had one guy skip a crucial step once and flooded half my kitchen...lesson learned, always cross-check with multiple vids.
