RE: Finally ditched the black tank: my dry loo journey
Been there, and it’s wild how fast things can go sideways. I once had a vent fan fail on a humid weekend, didn’t catch it for a couple days, and by then it was like a hot compost smoothie in there. I agree about farm sup...
RE: Battling stubborn tree roots in your pipes? Here’s what worked for me
Couldn’t agree more with this. I’ve seen folks dump root killer down their drains for years, thinking it’s a magic fix, but those roots just treat it like fertilizer half the time. Had a call last spring - lady was at he...
RE: How much would you pay to fix water damage from a burst pipe?
I hear you - water finds a way, no matter how much you prep. Last year I got called to a place where a pipe burst behind a kitchen wall while the owners were on vacation. By the time neighbors noticed, the cabinets were ...
RE: How much would you pay to fix water damage from a burst pipe?
Man, I hear you on the spray foam headaches. Had a call last winter where a pipe burst behind foam in a finished basement - what a nightmare. We spent almost two days just getting access, and the homeowner was floored by...

RE: When your bathroom sink ends up off-center
Man, you nailed it there. I remember one job where the homeowner wanted a double floating vanity, but the rough-in was way off-center thanks to some creative plumbing from the ‘80s. Ended up spending more time rerouting ...
RE: Choosing between in-kitchen and underground grease traps - what would you do?
I’ve seen more than my fair share of “mystery puddles” over the years, and let me tell you, nothing ruins a Saturday faster than realizing you’ve got to dig up half your patio just to get at a stubborn underground trap. ...
RE: do you pay attention to water-saving rules when fixing stuff at home?
Honestly, I hear you about the low-flow showerhead struggle - some of them are just sad. But I’ve gotta say, I’m not always convinced trial and error is the best way to go with this stuff, especially if your plumbing’s o...
