Just learned something pretty interesting today—apparently, if you don't regularly clean or swap out your water filter, bacteria can actually start growing inside it. Gross, right? I always thought filters were just kinda "set it and forget it," you know, until the water started tasting weird or something. Turns out, even if the water tastes fine, the filter could still be harboring some nasty stuff.
Anyway, a friend of mine mentioned that soaking the removable parts in vinegar every couple months helps break down mineral buildup and keeps things fresh. Also heard that running cold water through the filter for a minute or two after it's been sitting unused for a while flushes out any stagnant water.
I'm curious if anyone else has some clever tricks or random facts about keeping their filters clean and safe. Or maybe you've had a weird experience with yours? I'm all ears...
