is my water softener wasting salt and money?

I've had this water softener system for about 3 years now, and lately I've been noticing we're going through salt bags way faster than before. Like, noticeably faster. I haven't changed anything major in our water usage habits, so I'm kinda scratching my head here. A buddy of mine mentioned something about settings or calibration or whatever, but honestly, I never really messed with it after the initial install.

Is there some kind of maintenance or adjustment I should be doing regularly to keep it running smoothly? Or maybe it's just getting old and less efficient over time...I dunno. If anyone's dealt with something similar or has tips on how to dial it in better, I'd appreciate it. Salt ain't exactly cheap these days, you know?
