Haha, same here. We swapped out our ancient toilet for a basic water-saving model last year—nothing fancy, just straightforward efficiency. Definitely noticed the savings on our monthly bill...and no confusing buttons to deal with at 2am.

I've installed plenty of those basic water-saving toilets, and yeah, they do cut down on water use. But honestly, the savings aren't always that noticeable unless your old toilet was really ancient or leaking. Plus, some cheaper models tend to clog more often due to lower flush volumes, so you might end up flushing twice anyway. Not knocking your choice—just saying the efficiency can vary quite a bit depending on brand and model.

Fair points, but have you tried any of the newer dual-flush models? I've swapped out a couple older toilets for these, and honestly, I've noticed a decent drop in our water bill. Maybe not life-changing savings, but enough to feel worthwhile. Also haven't had clogging issues yet—though I did spend a bit more on reputable brands. Could it be that the cheaper models are skewing your experience a bit?

You're spot on about the cheaper models—I've seen plenty of those cause headaches. Investing a bit more upfront for quality usually pays off. Glad you're seeing savings already; sounds like you made the right call.

Couldn't agree more. Seen plenty of cheap toilets leak or clog within months. Stick with quality, follow proper install steps, and you'll dodge most headaches. Glad it's working out for you already.
