sometimes leaving it alone really is the lesser evil.
I get where you're coming from, but in my case, ignoring the noise just made things worse. That popcorn sound turned out to be a ton of sediment at the bottom. When I finally drained it, the stuff coming out looked like muddy soup. Flushing helped, but I had to replace the drain valve after—guess those old plastic ones don’t hold up. Sometimes maintenance is a pain, but letting it go cost me more in the end.
