Couldn’t agree more. I’ve lost count of the number of filters I’ve pulled out that looked like they were auditioning for a dust bunny convention. Honestly, if you’re not the type to remember to clean your coffee maker, just stick with disposables. Your furnace will thank you.

I hear you on the dust bunny convention—been there, done that. But honestly, I think a lot of folks underestimate how much a clogged filter can mess with the system. I skipped changing mine one winter (got lazy, I’ll admit), and the furnace started making this weird whistling noise. Thought it was haunted for a second... Turned out it was just the filter choking on six months’ worth of cat hair and who-knows-what. After that, I set a reminder on my phone. Disposable or not, it’s worth the five minutes.

I used to think it was a bit overhyped, honestly. But after my landlord’s old filter basically turned the whole apartment into a dust storm, I’m convinced now. Airflow just tanks when those things get clogged. Not worth the hassle later.
