That meter trick really does work—my neighbor found a slow leak that way last year.

If you’re hearing hissing, don’t ignore it.

I’d say trust your gut on this. Sometimes it’s nothing, but sometimes it’s a sneaky pipe issue. Have you noticed any damp spots or weird smells?
