Yeah, that’s pretty much what I found when I looked into it, too. The water usage adds up fast, especially if your sump pump kicks on a lot during a storm. I actually stuck a 5-gallon bucket under the discharge once just to see, and it was wild—after an hour or so, I’d used way more water than I expected. Our bill definitely noticed.
Comparing it to a dehumidifier... I mean, those use electricity, but at least they don’t run your water meter sky-high.
