So after months of watching our street flood every time it rains, I finally got around to calling the city about checking out the drains. Honestly didn't expect much, but they actually sent someone out pretty quick. Turns out a couple drains were totally blocked with leaves and trash, and one even had tree roots growing in it (who knew?). Anyway, they cleared them out and yesterday's rain flowed right through, no flooding at all. Feels good to actually get something done for once, haha. Anyone else had luck getting drainage issues sorted?
- Good call on contacting the cityβsometimes they're surprisingly responsive.
- Had a similar issue last year; roots were a nightmare... ended up saving us from bigger pipe repairs later.
- Nice when small actions actually pay off, right?
