Every spring I do a quick check on the storm drains around my property, just to make sure things are flowing right. Usually I start by clearing off leaves and debris, then pop open the grate (carefully!) and shine a flashlight down to see if there's any blockage or buildup inside. If it looks sketchy, I'll use a long pole or plumber's snake to clear it out. Pretty basic stuff, but I'm wondering if anyone has a better method or maybe some handy tricks I haven't thought of?
