Honestly, I get where you’re coming from. That quarter inch would bug me at first, but after living here a few months, I’ve realized there’s always something a little off in an older place. Like you said,

Little quirks just come with the territory...
I tried to “fix” a slightly wobbly towel bar and ended up with drywall dust everywhere and a bigger hole than I started with. Now I just keep an eye out for leaks or anything that could cause real damage. If it’s not a safety issue, I’m learning to let it go.

Honestly, I get the urge to fix every little thing too, but sometimes you just end up chasing your tail. That quarter inch off-center would drive me nuts at first, but after helping with a few bathroom renos, I’ve learned that unless it’s causing a leak or messing with the plumbing, it’s usually not worth tearing everything apart. If you ever do want to adjust it, just double-check what’s behind the wall before drilling—learned that one the hard way when I hit a pipe once... drywall dust is nothing compared to water spraying everywhere. Sometimes “good enough” really is good enough.

Honestly, I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve found that little details like an off-center sink can bug tenants way more than you’d expect. Had a unit once where the vanity was just a hair off, and I got comments about it every time someone moved in. Ended up fixing it between leases—took a couple hours, but saved me a lot of nitpicking down the line. Sometimes “good enough” is fine, but sometimes it’s just one more thing folks notice, you know?

Honestly, I get it—those little things can drive people nuts. But from my experience, unless it’s way off, most folks don’t care as much if the rent’s reasonable and everything works. I fixed one once because the faucet was almost hitting the edge, but if it’s just a bit off visually, I usually leave it. Not worth tearing up plumbing unless you’re already renovating. Guess it depends how picky your tenants are and what your budget looks like.

I hear you—if everything’s working and it’s not obviously crooked, most people probably won’t notice or care. That said, I’ve run into a couple of situations where the off-center thing actually caused issues down the line. One time, the drain was so far over that it put stress on the trap, and eventually it started leaking at the joint. Not super common, but it can happen if things are really misaligned.

Visually, I get why some folks just live with it. But if you’re already in there for a bigger job—like swapping out a vanity or redoing tile—it’s definitely worth lining everything up while you’ve got access. Saves headaches later. Otherwise, yeah, probably not worth ripping up pipes just for a little cosmetic fix unless your tenants are super particular.

Funny how little stuff like that can bug some people and others don’t even notice... guess it’s all about what you’re willing to live with and how much hassle you want to take on.
