Honestly, I get the appeal of just living with it, but I tried that for a while and it bugged me every time I walked in. Ended up doing a quick fix—shifted the mirror over a bit and put a towel hook on the “empty” side. Not perfect, but it tricks your eye enough. Just be careful if you’re drilling into tile... learned that one the hard way. Sometimes those little tweaks make a bigger difference than you’d think.

Man, I feel you on the tile thing. My “quick fix” turned into a “quick panic” when I cracked a tile and had to cover it with a decorative soap dish. At least now it looks intentional... sort of. Those little hacks really do help, though. Sometimes you just gotta fake symmetry and call it a day.

Honestly, half of DIY is just making mistakes look like design choices. I’ve definitely had to “decorate” over a few cracked tiles myself. Sometimes you just gotta roll with it and move on.

That’s the truth. I once installed a vanity light slightly off-center and ended up calling it “asymmetrical modern.” My wife still teases me about my “artistic vision.” Sometimes you just have to own it and pretend you planned it all along.

I get the appeal of calling it “asymmetrical modern,” but I have to admit, it bugs me when things aren’t lined up—especially with plumbing fixtures. I’ve seen sinks and faucets that are just a bit off-center, and it always makes me wonder if it was intentional or just a miscalculation. Sometimes you can hide it with a wider countertop or a decorative tray, but other times it just stands out.

Has anyone ever tried to actually fix an off-center sink after the fact? I’m curious if it’s worth the hassle to re-do the plumbing or if it’s better to just live with it and call it a design choice. I’ve heard some people say it’s not worth tearing up the vanity, but I guess it depends on how much it bothers you.
