Is underfloor heating really worth it?

Yeah, that about sums it up. I priced out underfloor heating for my place and nearly fainted when I saw the “hidden extras” (aka fixing all the stuff you find under there). Ended up going with heated mats in the bathroom instead. Not as fancy, but my toes are happy and my wallet didn’t cry. Sometimes low-tech wins.

Honestly, heated mats in the bathroom are such a solid compromise. I looked into full underfloor heating for my kitchen and the quote made me laugh out loud—until I realized they were serious. Between the cost and ripping up floors, it just didn’t add up for me either. Sometimes “good enough” really is good enough... especially when it keeps your feet warm where it counts.
