PIPE DREAM OR PIPE NIGHTMARE? A PLUMBER'S TALE
So yesterday, I'm under the sink wrestling with this ancient pipe - rusty, stubborn, you know the type - and suddenly, I spot this weird sticker on it. Something about updated safety regs and "compliance required." Um, since when do pipes come with fine print? Anyway, got me thinking...what if ignoring these little stickers led to some kinda plumbing apocalypse scenario? Like pipes revolting or something. Could make a funny short story or something darker maybe...anyone wanna run with it?

I’d lean toward comedy: the contrast between a tiny compliance sticker and an apocalyptic pipe revolt is already funny. I’d keep the first warning mundane - one stubborn pipe refusing to drain until someone reads its fine print - then let the absurdity build.
Building on that first refusal to drain, the sticker could say “NOTICE: cooperation required,” and the pipe starts issuing increasingly petty demands - first a formal apology, then a signed maintenance log - before any other plumbing joins the protest. That keeps the escalation tied to compliance language rather than turning it into a sudden, generic disaster.
I’d take it darker, but keep the threat small at first: the signed maintenance log quietly fills itself in with a violation nobody remembers committing. That makes the compliance sticker feel ominous before the pipes revolt outright - the horror comes from realizing the paperwork is already keeping score.
