"Sure, online glitches are annoying, but at least you can multitask at home instead of staring at the back of someone's head."

True, multitasking at home sounds nice in theory... but have you ever gotten halfway through an online renewal only to hit a glitch that resets everything? Happened to me last year—ended up spending nearly an hour troubleshooting and re-entering info. Wonder if mailing it in might actually be the underrated option here. Anyone tried that lately—is it still reliable or just another headache waiting to happen?

Yeah, online renewals can be hit or miss. I've had similar experiences—thought I'd breeze through it, then ended up stuck in a loop of errors and resets. Super frustrating, especially when you think you're saving time but end up wasting more.

About mailing it in... honestly, it's not a bad option. Did mine by mail two years ago and it was surprisingly smooth. A few things to keep in mind though:

- Double-check all your paperwork before sending. One missing signature or unchecked box can delay things by weeks.
- Make sure you send it early enough. Mail processing times have gotten slower lately, so give yourself a buffer.
- Keep copies of everything you send out. Just in case something gets lost or delayed, you'll have proof of what you submitted.

I know mailing feels old-school these days, but sometimes the simplest way is still the most reliable. Sure beats spending an afternoon troubleshooting tech issues or waiting forever at the DMV.

Mailing's reliable, sure, but I've actually had decent luck with in-person renewals lately. Went mid-week, early morning—got in and out surprisingly quick. Curious if anyone else has noticed shorter wait times at their local offices recently?

I've noticed something similar at my local office, actually. A few years back, it was almost a guarantee you'd be sitting there for hours, but lately they've streamlined things quite a bit. I went in around lunchtime last month—usually a risky move—and I was done in under 20 minutes. Couldn't believe it.

One thing I've found helpful is checking the DMV's website beforehand; some branches post real-time wait updates now, which can really help you time your visit right. Also, renewing online has become easier too, especially if nothing's changed on your license. But I get that not everyone trusts the online system yet (I was skeptical myself at first).

Have any of you tried renewing through those self-service kiosks they started putting up in grocery stores? Saw one recently and wondered if they're as convenient as they look...

Tried one last month at the supermarket near me—super quick, took maybe 5 mins tops. But it got me wondering... how secure are these kiosks compared to doing it online or in-person?
