Honestly, I hear you on the filter maintenance. I tried one of those under-sink units and it just became another chore—plus, if you forget about it, it gets gross fast. Hard water’s a nightmare for fixtures, too. I’ve started looking for faucets with spot-resistant finishes; they don’t solve everything, but at least I’m not scrubbing mineral spots every week. If you’re swapping fixtures anyway, it might be worth paying a bit more for that feature. Just my two cents...

I hear you on the spot-resistant finishes—makes a difference, especially if you’ve got hard water like we do. I replaced our kitchen faucet last year with one of those, and honestly, it’s been less of a headache. Still gotta wipe it down sometimes, but at least it doesn’t look crusty after every use. The under-sink filters, though... I always forget to swap those out on time. Ended up with a weird taste in the water once. Never again.

Spot-resistant finishes are a lifesaver with hard water, but yeah, nothing’s truly maintenance-free. For the filters, I stick a reminder on my phone—otherwise I’d forget too. Some brands have see-through housings so you can spot when it’s getting gross, might be worth a look.

Spot-resistant finishes are great, but I’ve noticed they can still show buildup if you’re not careful, especially in spots that don’t get wiped down often. I learned the hard way when a fixture corroded after I ignored it for months—now I’m a bit paranoid about regular checks. Those see-through filter housings are handy, but just make sure they’re installed securely; I’ve seen one crack from over-tightening and it made a real mess. Better safe than sorry with plumbing stuff...

Yeah, those spot-resistant finishes are kinda oversold sometimes. They help, but if you let water sit or don’t wipe things down, you’ll still get gunk—just maybe less obvious at first. I’ve seen filter housings crack too... hand-tight is usually enough, but people love to crank stuff down like they’re building a submarine. Regular checks are a pain, but way better than a surprise leak under the sink.
