Matte black looks sharp, but yeah, it’s a pain to keep spotless—especially with kids or if you’re not into wiping down the faucet every day. I’ll back you up on ceramic discs though. Swapped out a leaky old stem for one last year and haven’t touched it since. WaterSense is solid, but just double-check the pressure; some models get stingy if your supply isn’t great. If you’re set on black, maybe keep a microfiber cloth nearby... unless you like the “modern art” look.

Oil-rubbed bronze does a decent job hiding fingerprints, but in my experience, it can get those weird water spots if you’ve got hard water. Not as bad as chrome, though. I hear you on the ceramic discs—swapped one in for a client last month and didn’t have to mess with the pressure at all. Did you notice any change in flow rate after the switch, or was it pretty much the same?
