Couldn’t agree more with this:

if something’s going behind drywall, I want it to be as bulletproof as possible.
I’ve seen too many “quick fixes” come back to haunt people years later. Push-to-connect has its place, but for anything you can’t easily get to, I’d rather sweat a joint or use a solid compression fitting. The upfront hassle is nothing compared to ripping out finished walls because of a slow leak. You’re not being paranoid—just practical.

Been there, done that—had to tear out a bathroom wall after a “temporary” fix started dripping years later. It’s a pain you don’t forget. I get the appeal of push-to-connect for quick jobs, but if it’s going to be buried, I’d rather take the extra time now than gamble on it holding up. You’re just being smart about it.
