"Good to know the install isn't too complicated, just a bit of plumbing tweaking."

Yeah, pedal valves are pretty straightforward—just make sure you have enough clearance under the sink. I've seen folks underestimate that and end up cramped. Otherwise, they're great for messy hands and quick rinses.

Totally agree on the clearance thing—been there myself, haha. Another tip: double-check your existing plumbing fittings beforehand. I had to run back to the store mid-install because mine were a weird size...lesson learned.

Been there too, haha. Speaking of fittings, anyone know if those universal adapters actually work well? Always wondered if they're worth keeping around just in case.

From my experience, they're hit or miss:

- Had one save my neck on an oddball faucet once...worked great, no leaks.
- Tried another on a shower fitting—total nightmare, leaked everywhere even after tightening.
- They're handy in emergencies, but I wouldn't rely on them for permanent installs.
- Bottom line: keep one around for the unexpected weird fitting, but don't count on it as a long-term fix.

I agree they're pretty mixed overall. Had one save me big-time when swapping out an old laundry sink faucet. The fittings were ancient and nothing matched up, so I grabbed a universal adapter from my toolbox as a last-ditch effort. Surprisingly, it sealed tight and held up for months until I could properly redo the pipes.

But another time, tried using one on the bathroom sink during a quick reno—total headache. No matter what I did, it kept dripping slowly underneath. Ended up just biting the bullet and replacing the entire fitting properly.

Exactly this. They're good to have around as a temporary fix, but you're always better off going with the correct fittings long-term. Plumbing isn't something you wanna gamble on...water damage is no joke.
