Faucet flow is still weak after cleaning the aerator
When faucet flow stays weak after the aerator has been cleaned, what’s the most useful way to narrow down where the restriction is? Does it matter whether the drop affects hot, cold, or both, and whether other fixtures have normal flow?
I’m curious how much those clues can distinguish a blockage in the faucet from a supply-side issue, and when it’s time for a plumber to investigate further.

Compare hot and cold at that faucet, then check another nearby fixture. If only one side is weak, the restriction is more likely along that faucet’s corresponding path; if both are weak only there, suspect a faucet-local restriction. Weak flow at several fixtures points more toward a shared supply issue. These patterns guide where to investigate but don’t prove the cause; if the pattern is unclear or multiple fixtures are affected, a plumber can investigate further.
