Honestly, $4k sounds about right for a basic cleanup, but I’ve seen it go way higher if mold sets in or you need structural repairs. People always underestimate how fast water can wreck a place. Water sensors are a no-brainer—cheap insurance compared to gutting a basement. I’ve been called out to places where folks waited hours before noticing, and it’s never pretty. Prevention’s always cheaper than the fix, trust me.

Yeah, $4k sounds about right for a straightforward job, but I’ve seen some wild numbers when folks wait too long or try to DIY it first. Ever notice how water always finds the weirdest places to hide? I’m curious—has anyone here actually used those water sensors and had them save the day? I keep telling my friends to get them, but they just roll their eyes... until something floods.
