Swapping to a basic showerhead is underrated. Less to clean, less to break, and way cheaper if you ever need to replace it.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve swapped out so many fancy heads for tenants over the years—always the simple ones that last. If it’s spraying everywhere, probably just needs a good vinegar soak or honestly, a $10 replacement. No shame in going basic.

Honestly, I’ve tried those “rainfall” heads and they’re always the first to clog up or start spraying sideways. Here’s what I do: unscrew the head, soak it in vinegar for an hour, scrub with an old toothbrush, and see if that fixes it. If not, just swap it for a basic $10 one—no need to overthink it. Those fancy multi-spray ones are more trouble than they’re worth, at least in my experience.

I hear you on the fancy shower heads—mine came with one of those “waterfall” things and it looked cool for about a week before it started spraying like a busted fire hydrant. I tried the vinegar trick too, but I’m always paranoid about messing with plumbing stuff. Last time I took the head off, I managed to drop a washer down the drain... not my finest moment. Honestly, I just want something that won’t leak or shoot water at the ceiling. Simple is safer, at least for my nerves.

Couldn’t agree more. I once splurged on one of those “rainfall” heads thinking it’d be like a spa—ended up with water spraying out the side and soaking the bathroom mirror. My wallet still hasn’t forgiven me. At this point, I’d take a basic shower head that just points down and doesn’t require a plumber’s license to clean. Fancy features are overrated if you ask me... give me reliable over “innovative” any day.

Honestly, I get where you’re coming from. Some of those “fancy” shower heads just add more hassle than they’re worth. Had to unclog a friend’s multi-spray head once—took longer than fixing a leaky faucet. Sometimes less really is more with plumbing stuff.
