I swear, my last shower head looked like it was growing stalactites inside.

That’s exactly what mine looked like after a year with our hard water. I tried the vinegar trick too—left it soaking overnight and the next morning it smelled like a salad bar in my bathroom. Didn’t help much, honestly. Ended up with a “choose your own adventure” spray pattern: one jet to the ceiling, one to the wall, and a couple straight at my face. At least it wakes you up faster than coffee...

That’s classic hard water damage. Vinegar sometimes helps, but if the buildup’s thick, it won’t cut it. Once the jets are blocked, you’re fighting a losing battle. At that point, replacing the shower head is usually easier and not too pricey. If you’re stuck with hard water, consider a filter or just plan on swapping heads every year or so.

Yeah, been there—nothing like getting blasted in the face first thing in the morning.

I tried vinegar and even a needle, but honestly, swapping the head was way less hassle. Not too expensive either if you stick to basics.

Honestly, I used to think vinegar was the miracle fix for everything, but after a few failed attempts and a kitchen that reeked of pickles, I’m with you—just swap the head. Only thing I’d add: double-check the threads for old tape or gunk before screwing on the new one. Makes a difference, trust me.

Yeah, swapping the head is usually the way to go once it starts spraying sideways. I tried the vinegar trick too—left it soaking overnight, and all I got was a stubborn clog and a weird smell in the bathroom. One thing I’d add: after you check the threads, run the water for a second before putting the new head on. Sometimes a bit of grit gets stuck in the pipe and that can mess up your new shower head pretty quick. Learned that one the hard way...
