Yeah, composting toilets can be a bit of a love-hate thing. Installed one for a client once—he was all excited about going green. Six months later, guess who got called back to swap it out? Low-flow toilets aren't perfect either, but at least they're set-and-forget...mostly.

Haha, yeah composting toilets can definitely test your commitment to going green. I've seen them work great in cabins or tiny homes, but for everyday family use? Bit tougher sell. Low-flow toilets are usually the sweet spot—easy enough to live with and still eco-friendly. Installed a dual-flush at my place last year, and honestly, zero regrets...except when guests get confused about which button to press.

Yeah, composting toilets sound great in theory, but honestly, I can't imagine convincing my family to go that route full-time. We tried one at a friend's cabin once—let's just say it was memorable, lol. Dual-flush is probably the smarter compromise for most homes. Installed ours a couple years back, and aside from the occasional confused guest (seriously, how hard is it?), it's been pretty painless.

Yeah, gotta agree with you there. I've put dual-flush units into a few rentals now, and honestly, they're a solid middle-ground. Composting toilets are fine if you're off-grid or living solo, but tenants and guests... let's just say I've had enough panicked phone calls about plumbing emergencies without adding compost confusion into the mix.

One of my renters called me at midnight once, convinced the dual-flush was broken because it had "two weird buttons instead of a normal lever." Took a solid ten minutes to explain over the phone. 😂

Still, they're reliable, save water, and most folks get the hang of them eventually. Composting toilets? Great idea on paper, but probably best left to cabins and tiny homes for now.

Haha, yeah, I've seen that confusion firsthand. But honestly, most people catch on pretty quick once they've used it a couple times. Composting toilets though... I dunno. They're great in theory, but I've seen a few setups go south fast if they're not maintained properly. Dual-flush seems like the safer bet for most homes—less hassle, fewer headaches.
