The disposal clears, but the kitchen sink still drains slowly
Discussion options
If a kitchen sink drains slowly after the disposal has cleared its contents, what observations help distinguish a problem in the disposal from a restriction farther along the drain? Does it matter whether the sink is slow with the disposal running or when water drains with it off, or would either symptom still leave the location uncertain? At what point is inspecting the drain more useful than trying more disposal cleaning?

I wouldn’t treat slow draining with the disposal running as proof the disposal itself is the problem. Compare the sink with the disposal off to other fixtures that share its drain: if those are slow too, inspect the shared drain first; if they drain normally while the sink stays slow, start with the sink branch or disposal outlet. If more cleaning doesn’t change the sink’s flow, inspecting that connection is more useful than repeating the same cleaning.
