why is documenting plumbing connections such a nightmare?

Haha, plumbing pics are definitely an acquired taste...but seriously, documenting connections is always a mess because pipes and fittings never seem to match what's in the manual (if you even have one). Half the time, you're upside-down, snapping blurry pics with one hand and holding a flashlight with the other. Been there too many times. Cloud backups are lifesavers—your sanity thanks you, trust me.

Haha, this hits home. Last summer, I was replacing the kitchen sink plumbing and thought I'd be smart by taking photos beforehand. Of course, when I went to reconnect everything, nothing matched up with the pics or the fittings I bought. Ended up making three trips to the hardware store in one afternoon...and still had leftover parts. Seriously, why can't plumbing ever be straightforward?

I've been there myself—snapped a dozen photos of the bathroom sink connections before replacing the faucet, and somehow none of them showed the exact angle I needed later. Makes me wonder if plumbing setups are intentionally confusing or if it's just because every house has its own DIY history? Seems like there's no universal standard for these things...

Honestly, plumbing connections seem designed to keep us guessing. Every time I think I've cracked the code, I find some weird angle or hidden fitting that throws me off. I've started taking short videos instead of photos—slowly moving around the connections from different angles. It helps a bit, but even then, there's always that one spot I miss. Maybe plumbing is secretly an art form and we're all just amateur critics fumbling around...

Haha, plumbing really does feel like a puzzle sometimes. Videos are a smart move—I started doing that too after missing a hidden valve once (never again...). Now I also jot down quick notes about tricky spots or weird angles. Might seem overkill, but better safe than sorry when water's involved. Plumbing definitely has its own sneaky charm, doesn't it?
