What should an irrigation backflow test quote include?
A low fee for an irrigation backflow preventer test can be hard to compare with another quote if one covers only the initial test and another includes the report or follow-up work. What would you clarify before booking?
I’d want to know whether the written test report and any required filing are included, and how repairs, parts, and a retest would be charged if the device fails. A failed test doesn’t automatically mean the preventer needs replacement, so I’m also curious how providers usually explain repair versus replacement options and price those separately.

For example, imagine one quote has a lower test fee but charges separately for the report and filing, while another includes both. I’d compare the total for the test and required paperwork, then check each quote’s separate prices for repairs, parts, and a retest if it fails. That makes the difference between the upfront price and possible follow-up costs easier to see.
