Been there—my camera roll is like a weird plumbing crime scene sometimes. I started using the “favorite” function on my phone for the important shots, which helps a bit. That way, even if I forget to move them to an album, I can just filter by favorites and skip the endless sea of duplicate pipe photos. Painter’s tape and Sharpie is a solid move, though. Honestly, whatever keeps you from crawling around twice is worth it.

I feel this. I once had to scroll through 50+ photos of pipes under my sink just to find the one with the shutoff valve label I needed. I’ve tried the “favorite” trick, but sometimes I forget in the middle of the chaos. Anyone ever use those home maintenance apps that let you tag photos to specific rooms or systems? Curious if they’re actually worth the hassle or just another thing to forget about.

Yeah, I get the chaos—my phone’s full of random pipe closeups and mystery valves too. I’ve tried a couple of those apps, but honestly, most are more work than they’re worth. What’s worked best for me is just making a “Plumbing Stuff” album and tossing everything in there right after I snap it. Not perfect, but at least I’m not scrolling through pictures of my dog every time I need to remember which valve does what.

I hear you on the chaos—my camera roll is like 60% pipes and 40% “what is THAT?” moments. But honestly, I’m all about sticky notes on the actual valves. Not exactly high-tech, but way less scrolling, and bonus points for using recycled paper. My family thinks it looks ridiculous, but at least nobody’s ever turned off the wrong thing during a shower... again.

I get the sticky note thing, but honestly, those never last in my house. Someone always spills something or the cat decides it's a new toy. I started using those cheap plastic key tags—the ones with the little paper insert. Clip 'em right to the valve. Not the prettiest, but they survive way longer, especially in the basement where it's damp. My partner rolled their eyes at first, but at least now nobody yells from the shower “Why is there no water?!” anymore.
