Mine's been outside for about two years now, and it's still holding up okay...but now you've got me wondering if I should've covered it better. Do you think a simple plastic cover would be enough, or is something sturdier needed?
I've seen a lot of boilers outside, and honestly, a simple plastic cover usually does the trick if it's decent quality. Mine's been under one of those heavy-duty plastic covers for about three winters now—no issues yet. Just make sure it's secured well so wind doesn't rip it off. If your area's prone to harsh weather though, might be worth upgrading to something sturdier...better safe than sorry.
