Pedestal sinks can be tricky too, though:
- Limited storage space underneath—where do you stash cleaning supplies or extra TP?
- Plumbing is still hidden behind the pedestal, so leaks aren't necessarily easier to spot.
- Stability can be iffy if your floor isn't perfectly level.

Maybe a slim vanity is still the sweet spot...

Yeah, that's the kicker for me too. My folks had a pedestal sink in their guest bath, and every time I visited, I'd end up awkwardly rummaging through hallway closets looking for TP... not exactly a five-star experience, lol. Slim vanities seem like the best compromise, but has anyone tried those wall-mounted sinks with exposed plumbing? They look cool, but are they practical or just trendy troublemakers?

We swapped to a wall-mounted sink with exposed plumbing in our half bath last year, mostly because we loved the look. Honestly, it does look pretty sleek and makes the space feel bigger, but practicality-wise... eh, it's a bit of a mixed bag. You definitely lose that handy storage spot underneath, so we ended up putting a small cabinet on the opposite wall for TP and cleaning supplies. Not ideal, but it works.

One thing I didn't anticipate was how visible the plumbing would be—meaning you have to keep it clean and polished or it starts looking kinda grungy fast. Also, installation was trickier than expected because our wall needed extra reinforcement to support the weight properly. If you're comfortable with DIY or have a good handyman, it's doable, but just something to keep in mind.

Overall, no major regrets here, but if convenience is your top priority, I'd say stick with a slim vanity or at least have a solid plan for alternative storage.

We went with a pedestal sink in our powder room about two years ago, and your experience sounds pretty familiar. I underestimated how much I'd miss that little storage space underneath. Ended up putting a small shelf above the toilet for extra TP rolls and hand towels, which helps, but it's still not perfect. On the upside, cleaning around a pedestal base is definitely easier than navigating around cabinet legs or corners. Trade-offs, I guess... but your setup sounds like it turned out nicely overall.

We swapped to a pedestal sink last year, mostly to open up space and because I prefer simpler cleaning. I get the storage struggle though—ended up tossing a basket under the sink for extra towels and stuff, but it kinda defeats the minimalist look I was going for. Curious if anyone found a good eco-friendly storage solution that doesn't clutter things up too much?
