Couldn't agree more about checking what's behind the wall first—I've had my fair share of surprises too. Another tip: when you're measuring for that access panel, leave yourself a little extra wiggle room around valves or joints. Trust me, nothing worse than squeezing your hand through a tiny opening trying to turn a stubborn valve. And if aesthetics bother you, painting the custom panel or matching it to your wall color can make it blend surprisingly well.

Pedestal sinks look great and save space, but storage can become a real headache. Switched to one last year, and now I'm constantly juggling toiletries and cleaning supplies. Ended up adding shelves nearby, which kinda defeats the minimalist vibe I was going for. Have you thought about how you'll handle storage without a vanity?

Yeah, that's the catch with pedestal sinks. I've installed plenty of them, and while they look sleek and tidy, storage always becomes an issue sooner or later. Shelves can help, but like you said, they can clutter up the minimalist look you're aiming for. One workaround I've seen is using recessed medicine cabinets or wall niches—keeps things hidden and tidy without taking up extra space. Another practical option is a slim cabinet or cart tucked into a corner or behind the door; it's not perfect, but it does the job without overwhelming the room. Honestly though, if storage is a priority, a small vanity might save you headaches down the road.

Pedestal sinks can actually be pretty practical if you rethink your storage habits a bit. I switched to one last year, and it forced me to declutter and streamline my bathroom stuff—ended up not needing extra shelves or cabinets at all. Just another perspective to consider...

I see your point about decluttering, but honestly, I've seen it go both ways. Did a pedestal sink install at my own place a while back and ended up missing the extra storage... had to throw in a small shelf eventually. Guess it depends on how minimalist you're willing to go?
