Silicone alone can def work, but I'd still toss in a shim or two if the floor's really wonky. Had a pedestal sink in our old place—looked great, but man, cleaning behind it was a pain...just something to keep in mind.

Definitely agree with this. Pedestal sinks can be aesthetically pleasing, but the cleaning hassle is real. Also, consider water efficiency when swapping sinks—some pedestal models aren't exactly eco-friendly... something worth checking before you commit.

Had a pedestal sink in a rental a few years back—tenants loved the look, but yeah, cleaning behind it was always awkward. Honestly, I'd recommend checking out wall-mounted options too... sleek look and way easier to mop around.

Pedestal sinks do look nice, but man, storage becomes a real puzzle. When I moved into my first place, I swapped out the old vanity for one because it looked so classy in the showroom. Fast forward two weeks, and I'm standing there holding a stack of towels like "wait...where do these go now?" Ended up getting creative with shelves and baskets—so yeah, just be ready to channel your inner HGTV host if you go that route. Wall-mounted does sound tempting though...

Had a similar experience helping my brother install one last year. Looked sleek, but we quickly realized the hairdryer and extra TP needed a new home. Ended up rigging some floating shelves—worked okay, but definitely took some planning ahead.
